Express Employment Professionals Dayton South is now hiring a 5 AXIS CNC Machinist in Kettering, OH at $20.00-$25.00/hour and up, depending on experience.

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced CNC Mill or Lathe Operator to join our team! You will operate and repair a variety of CNC lathes or Mills.

Essential Job Functions:

• Setup and Operation: Perform setup of 5-axis milling machines, including aligning workholding devices, loading, and initiating complex CNC programs..

• Production Monitoring: Monitor feed rates, speeds, and tool conditions, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and avoid errors.

• Technical Precision: Work with, interpret, and adjust, as necessary,, complex, high-tolerance blueprints and technical drawings.

• Tool Management: Manage automated tool changers, including selecting, loading, and setting up tooling.

• Quality Inspection: Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gages) to verify part dimensions.

• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, removing chips, and monitoring coolants and lubricants

Collaboration: Coordinate with engineers, programmers, and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes

Job Classification Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in operating 3-axis and, ideally, 5-axis CNC machinery.

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and 5-axis machining principles

• Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic algebra and geometry to interpret specifications

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift or move heavy parts and fixtures

• Software Familiarity: Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, CNC control systems (e.g., Siemens, Fanuc, Haas)
