Must be at least 20 years of age.

Completion of an online application places your name on a list for the Director of Janitorial Services. Once you are contacted, you will receive a blue form that has been signed off by the Director of Janitorial Services. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN BE FINGERPRINTED . You must bring the blue form to Central Office to be processed (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1p.m to 3p.m.). At this time you will need to supply your social security card and valid driver's license, or state issued I.D., along with $50.00 exact cash. Once your background has come back with no hits, your name will be placed on the active list of substitute custodians for the district.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Responsible for keeping the classrooms, restrooms, offices and hallways clean. This includes mopping, sweeping, stripping and waxing floors, removing waste and other types of garbage, sanitizing restrooms and other public areas.

Report signs of vandalism or abuse of the facilities to the principal.

Prepare and inventory of all supplies and keep records for purchases. Use all supplies according to factory and product recommended standards for use.

Make sure buildings are locked in the afternoon/night and opened in the mornings.

Identify cleaning agents and equipment to ensure their proper use. Meet or exceed quality maintenance and infectious disease control standards.

Maintains a neat, organized and well stocked custodian and/or housekeeping room and/or storage room.

Attends to all cleaning needs and maintenance requests in a timely manner upon receiving a request.

Maintains appropriate training to keep current on the various cleaning products, materials, equipment and supply standards and use according to manufacturer recommendations.

Summer cleaning and maintenance.

Any other duties as assigned.

Other requirements: Timeliness, punctuality and following Administrator/ Supervisor's direction.
