Central Nursing Department - Infection Control Nurse, Grantham Hospital, Hong Kong West Cluster
Pay
HK$63,338 to HK$88,333 (HGPS Pt 26 – 33A) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities
A. Undertake general nursing and supervisory duties.
1.
Lead and supervise a nursing team within a clinical unit.
2.
Develop professional nursing standard, care protocol and clinical pathway.
3.
Provide complex patient care in a specialty / subspecialty.
4.
Act as a resource and referral agent on clinical expertise.
5.
Manage nurse-led services to provide specialized patient care.
6.
Train and supervise nurse learners in advanced nursing specialty training.
7.
Initiate and participate in evidence-based practice and nursing research.
8.
Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the service.
B. Carry out infection control duties including:
1.
Perform daily hospital infection control surveillance and generate report.
2.
Perform infection control audit work according to infection control guidelines and protocols.
3.
Perform and organize infection control training or workshop for hospital staff.
4.
Monitor hospital infection control practice.
5.
Assist in implementing infection control initiatives.
6.
Participate in investigation and control of infection or outbreak in hospital.
7.
Provide education, advice and counselling to patient, caregivers and staff on infection control related issue.
8.
Required to provide support service to cluster hospitals or perform on-call duties if necessary.
Entry Requirements
1.
Holder of a valid Registered Nurse practicing certificate (Part I) issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.
2.
Qualification in advanced nursing specialty *.
3.
A degree in Nursing or equivalent.
4.
5 years or more post-registration experience in healthcare, of which at least 3 years is in the related specialty.
* Qualification in advanced nursing specialty refers to recognized post-registration certificate, or post-graduate certificate/diploma course in nursing specialty, or Master in nursing# or related discipline with considerable coverage on a relevant nursing specialty.
# Only post-registration Master in nursing programmes are accepted
