Electrical Estimator Commercial/Industrial

Job Description

FindTalent is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to support commercial and industrial construction projects in the Midwest. The ideal candidate will prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, interpret electrical drawings, and collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects. This role plays a critical part in preconstruction efforts, helping to define project scope, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure accurate budgeting for complex electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive electrical estimates for commercial and industrial projects, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and control systems.

Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to accurately determine materials, labor, and project requirements.

Perform takeoffs using digital and manual methods to quantify electrical work.

Collaborate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.

Identify value engineering opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize project cost and efficiency.

Prepare detailed proposals and reports for preconstruction and bidding processes.

Mentor and support junior estimators, contributing to team development.

Participate in pre-bid meetings and maintain clear communication throughout the estimating process.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience as an electrical estimator, focusing on commercial and industrial projects.

Experience with projects ranging from $100K to $100M in value.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labor costs, and installation methods.

Proficient with estimating software (Accubid preferred) and takeoff techniques.

Ability to review and interpret complex drawings and specifications.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with healthcare or mission-critical facilities is a plus.
