• Lead the architecture, development, and optimization of our enterprise data warehouse and analytics platforms.
• Drive data strategy, enabling data-driven decision making, and delivering actionable insights across the organization.
• Lead and manage a team of data engineers, analysts, and BI developers.
• Define and implement the enterprise data and analytics strategy aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate and influence Users, Engineers, and Product partners to ensure our data infrastructure meets constantly evolving requirements.
• Oversee the architecture, development, and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Manage ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data quality frameworks.
• Lead cloud data migration strategies and modern data architecture efforts (e.g., Data Lakehouse, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.).
• Provide expert knowledge of scaled agile development practices and associated disciplines such as Safe, CI/CD, Git, Kanban.
• Develop and oversee scalable data models and dashboards that provide critical business insights.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytics requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Drive the development of self-service BI tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Develop self-serve reporting solutions and interactive querying solutions for business units that do not impact production systems.
• Manage team progression, maturity, Agile delivery, and DevOps/CI-CD processes.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Define and enforce data standards, data definitions, and metadata management practices.
• Collaborate with InfoSec and Compliance teams to ensure secure and ethical use of data.
• Manage budgets, vendor contracts, and project timelines related to data and analytics.
• Evaluate and implement third-party tools and platforms as needed.
• Requires up to 5-10% domestic travel.
Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, communications engineering, computer science, information systems, or closely related field, plus 5 years of experience in a data engineering role in the energy or software and infrastructure industries, providing data analytics solutions, and demonstrated experience with:
• Cloud technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
• Real-time & batch data processing, data pipelines, transformation, and modeling using traditional and distributed systems
• Developing and architecting data ingestion models, ETL jobs, and alerting to maintain high availability and data integrity
• Orchestrating, leading, and influencing virtual teams, to ensure the successful implementation of customer projects.
• Presenting data solutions to both large and small audiences.
• Data modeling, analytics, data mining, and machine learning.
• Scaled agile development practices and associated disciplines such as SAFe, CI/CD, Git, or Kanban.
• Data and analytics for the electric and gas utility industry.
