Job Overview
The Heavy Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery in forest timber removal projects. This role requires knowledge of various types of equipment, as well as a commitment to safety and environmental standards. The operator must work effectively within a team or independently to ensure the timely and successful completion of timber removal while minimizing impact on surrounding ecosystems.
Job Summary
Operates heavy power equipment, including processors, dozers, and feller bunchers, to facilitate timber removal and land clearing.
General Accountabilities
Operates and maintains heavy machinery for timber removal operations, ensuring it functions optimally.
Performs basic maintenance and minor repairs on processors, dozers, and feller bunchers.
Adheres to all safety protocols and health standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Loads and transports dirt, rocks, timber, and other materials as needed for disposal or processing.
Drives and maneuvers equipment to clear topsoil, rocks, and vegetation efficiently.
Coordinates machinery actions to ensure safe and effective movement of loads.

Job Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of one year of relevant experience; completion of a heavy machinery operator apprenticeship program is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Class A commercial driver's license.

Proficiency in operation and control of heavy machinery.
