SUMMARY

As a Rig Operations Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing rig operations and ensuring safety and efficiency. You will operate controls and equipment on the rig, supervising crewmembers while upholding productivity and collaborating with customer representatives to deliver reliable services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote a culture of Stop Work Accountability and adhere to safety policies and procedures.

Conduct Meet and Greet sessions at job sites to foster clear communication.

Coordinate with vendor and contractor groups during simultaneous operations.

Safely operate the rig during rig up/down and pulling operations.

Ensure the functionality of brake systems and other critical equipment.

Effectively pull and lay down rods, tubing, casing, and other necessary equipment.

Properly arrange rods and tubing in the derrick while understanding job steps.

Maintain knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on the rig.

Perform inspections on all required equipment, including workover rig, fall arrest systems, and mud pumps.

Instruct crew members in the use of safety and rig equipment.

Operate the power swivel and perform inspections of Blowout Preventers (BOP) as needed.

Assist various departments with documentation related to HSE and DOT compliance.

Complete field tickets promptly for processing.

Troubleshoot maintenance issues and submit requests for repair or replacement of worn equipment.

Perform torque calculations based on specifications.

Lead JSA/DWP and tailgate meetings as scheduled.

Oversee pipe tallying, rig assembly, and disassembly, along with proper pipe handling.

Maintain cleanliness and good working order of the work site, equipment, and tools.

Supervise minor adjustments and daily lubrication of equipment.

Implement Hazard ID programs and document potential hazards.

Ensure daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.

Perform energy isolation procedures when necessary.

Train and mentor crew members in day-to-day operations.

Prioritize safety by stopping work when conditions are unsafe and reporting concerns immediately.

Report all incidents in accordance with standard procedures.

Undertake any other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

A minimum of seven (7) years of experience working on a well servicing rig preferred.

Five (5) years of operational experience with a well servicing rig preferred.

Two (2) years of experience as a relief operator preferred.

Demonstrated capability as a Floor Hand III and derrick hand.

Familiarity with pump and tank operations.

Possess a valid state-issued driver's license or CDL, or ability to obtain one.

Physical capability to perform manual labor for operating well servicing equipment.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Understanding of workover and completions operations.

Flexibility to work various schedules.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic knowledge of MS Office preferred.

Proficiency in using HSE Management Platforms.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of all pre-employment drug screenings is mandatory.
