The Opportunity

Our location in Columbus, OH currently has an opportunity for a Cafe' Cook.

This position is responsible for general food service work involving varied tasks including preparing food for all stations, specials and other food stations. Responsible for sanitation and food safety in designated food station. Assist Café management with food production, catering and other designated projects and events.

What You’ll Work On

Maintain a high level of quality and integrity of food confidence with customers

Provide outstanding customer service

Assist Chef with food ordering for the designated stations

Maintain food ordering sheet with needed food requests to ensure that product is on hand

Assist in putting away stock

Open kitchen and turn on equipment as required

Maintain sanitation of station, sanitation certification

Deliver catering orders

Receive Catering Orders in Detail

Communicate needs to Café Staff accurately and timely

Input orders in Catering Software and track efficiently

Train for the ability to fill in at all other Café Stations as needed

Ability to follow a recipe to Chef’s/Team specification

Assist Chef in Kitchen preparation

Maintain a high level of quality and integrity of Food Confidence with Customers

Ability to work in a computer based Catering, recipe & inventory program, by inputting catering requests, recipes and invoices.

Assist Chef in Kitchen in the proper practice of Preparation & Sanitation Techniques

Partner with cross-functional stakeholders

Lift 50 pounds

Work a flexible schedule as required by catering needs

Assist with other Café duties and stations as required

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a kitchen environment

Strong customer service skills

Strong verbal communication skills

Must be knowledgeable about the preparation and production of grill foods and hot sandwiches

Ability to prepare quality food in a fast-paced working environment

Ability to be flexible and handle several tasks at once

Ability to follow directions

Customer interaction skills a must

Customer Service Experience

Prior Kitchen Experience of 2-3 years, High volume would be preferred

Prior experience in banquet service a plus

Flexibility of working different Stations

Quick learning agility

Culinary Arts Degree Preferred

The base pay for this position is $15.90 – $31.00 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
