About the Role:
The Machine Operator L2 plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of manufacturing equipment within our production facilities. This position involves setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery to produce high-quality products that meet company standards and customer specifications. The role requires close monitoring of machine performance, troubleshooting issues promptly, and performing routine maintenance to minimize downtime. The Machine Operator L2 collaborates with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and uphold safety protocols. Ultimately, this position contributes directly to the overall productivity and quality output of the manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities:
Set up and calibrate machines according to production specifications and work orders.
Operate machinery safely and efficiently to produce parts or products within quality standards.
Monitor machine performance and product quality, making adjustments as necessary to maintain standards.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal operation and prevent breakdowns.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, escalating complex problems to maintenance or engineering teams.
Maintain accurate production records and report any deviations or incidents to supervisors.
Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and improve operational processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in machine operation or related technical training a plus.
Experience with computerized or automated machinery and control systems.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
Skills:
The required skills enable the Machine Operator L2 to efficiently set up and operate complex machinery while maintaining high-quality output and safety standards. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are essential for identifying and resolving equipment issues quickly to minimize production delays. Attention to detail ensures that products meet specifications and that safety protocols are consistently followed. Preferred skills such as familiarity with automated systems and Lean Manufacturing principles help improve operational efficiency and reduce waste. Effective communication and teamwork skills support collaboration with maintenance personnel and supervisors to optimize production processes.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit/stand for most of his/her job duties. There is the need to frequently walk. There will be a moderate amount of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting and reaching for some of his/her job duties.
Visual requirements include reading off a computer screen as well as printed materials. A high degree of dexterity is required due to frequent use of a telephone console.
Verbal and auditory requirements include the ability to communicate clearly over the telephone as well as in person.
There is a moderate level of grasping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects of less than 25 lbs.
