Lead Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to support a fast growing, technology driven insurance organization.

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for architecting, designing, and delivering technical solutions across core systems including CRM, CCM, vendor platforms, and cloud based applications.

This role will lead engineering efforts, collaborate with cross functional teams, and guide development through all phases of the SDLC.

The candidate will sit hybrid in Durham, NC.

Responsibilities of the Lead Engineer include: * Lead the design and implementation of technical solutions across key enterprise platforms * Provide hands on engineering leadership and guide development teams through delivery * Build and maintain scalable applications using Node.js, React, AWS, and DynamoDB * Assess current systems, recommend modernization strategies, and execute enhancements Qualifications for the Lead Engineer include: * Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, technology, or a comparable discipline * 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience across application and web services * Strong proficiency with AWS, Node.js, React, JavaScript, and DynamoDB * Proven full stack engineering leadership with strong communication and problem solving skills Compensation for the Lead Engineer includes: * $120,000 - $135,000 annual range plus full benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), paid time off, holidays, and legally required sick leave * Hybrid Durham, NC This role becomes available for applicants on 2/27/2025, and the application window will remain open for at least 30 days from the listed posting date.
