The Database Management department is responsible for database operations at the German Pension Insurance data centers. We are responsible for the planning, design, and operation of databases for all pension insurance providers.Your tasks
You will be responsible for setting up and further developing our database architecture as well as all architecture issues for database systems supported by the DRV data center
You will define quality requirements for database landscapes, create suitable IT security concepts, and specify standards and technologies for the database architecture of the department
To this end, you will develop concepts for future database architecture in close cooperation with the respective stakeholders, formulate appropriate database architecture goals, determine the necessary individual architecture development steps, coordinate these, and bring about the corresponding governance decisions
You will participate in projects and specialist/working groups as well as in complex cross-departmental system developments and support the database strategy of the department
You will plan the migration to future database architectures, ensure compliance with the specifications of the corporate architecture, and obtain the corresponding implementation decisions
You develop standards and specifications for the provision and operation of databases and relevant tools, including the creation of database architecture planning documentsYour profile
Successfully completed academic university degree (master's or equivalent) preferably in the field of IT
Many years of relevant professional experience in the field of architecture and administration of at least one database system
Proven expert knowledge of database architecture, including knowledge of current methods and applicable standards for the design and implementation concepts of complex database infrastructures
Very good knowledge of BSI basic protection as well as in-depth and detailed knowledge of IT security practices and data encryption and automation
Theoretical knowledge and practical experience in project management
Ideally, you already have experience with operating high-availability databases on Engineered Systems/EXADATA as well as experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible and Gitlab)
