Sr Full Stack Engineer (.NET)

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior UI Engineer for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Rockville, MD.

This position is hybrid (3 days per week onsite) - Tysons (preferred) or Rockville office

Must be local to DC Metro area.

Primary: Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and Large Language Models for software engineering tasks

o Agentic AI: Experience with autonomous AI agents for development workflows

Responsibilities :

Maintain and enhance existing .NET Framework 4.7.2 applications includingASP.NETWeb Forms, Master Pages, User Controls, and WCF Services

Develop and maintain complex web UIs usingASP.NETWeb Forms, AJAX Control Toolkit, and jQuery

Build and maintainASP.NETMVC components with Razor views

Develop cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native

Create and maintain reporting solutions using ActiveReports

Build and maintain RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and WCF services

Design and implement AWS cloud solutions with high availability and scalability

Implement comprehensive automated testing strategies including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions

Actively participate in conduct code reviews

Optimize application performance, security, and scalability across legacy and modern platforms

Participate in architecture and design decisions, including modernization strategies

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in both frontend and backend environments

Contribute to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline improvements

Required Skills:

7+ years of professional software development experience

3+ years of hands-on experience with .NET Framework, includingASP.NETWeb Forms and WCF Services

Strong experience withASP.NETWeb Forms UI development (.aspx, Master Pages, User Controls)

Proficiency with JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX technologies

Experience withASP.NETMVC and Razor view engine

3+ years of experience with React Native development

2+ years of experience with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright)

3+ years of experience with AWS cloud services

Strong understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles

Experience with version control systems (Git/Bitbucket)

Proficiency in SQL and database design

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Skills:

Experience with AJAX Control Toolkit and advanced AJAX patterns

Experience with ActiveReports or similar reporting frameworks

Experience migrating legacy .NET Framework applications to .NET Core

AWS certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, or equivalent)

Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS)

Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)

Familiarity with microservices and event-driven architecture

Understanding of security best practices, OWASP guidelines, and AWS security

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)

Experience with monitoring and logging tools (AWS CloudWatch, Splunk)

Knowledge of cost optimization strategies in AWS environments

Contributions to open-source projects

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
