Software Engineer (Specialty Engineering) - Contingent Assignment

Location: Fort Bend, TX

About the Role

In this contingent role, you will support high-impact engineering initiatives focused on Specialty Software Engineering. You will work on complex, large-scale projects that require deep technical evaluation, long-term planning, and the ability to solve challenges with multiple variables-including ambiguous or unprecedented factors.

You will partner closely with internal client teams, providing strategic technical guidance and helping shape engineering solutions that meet organizational standards, policies, and compliance requirements.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in open-source ecosystems, DevSecOps practices, and advanced CI/CD automation.

Key Responsibilities

Consult on complex engineering initiatives with broad scope and organizational impact.

Analyze and resolve multifaceted technical challenges requiring in-depth assessment of multiple inputs.

Ensure engineering solutions comply with standards, policies, procedures, and delivery requirements.

Collaborate strategically with client teams to drive high-quality technical outcomes.

Contribute to and lead open-source package ecosystem efforts, specifically in Conda-Forge and Pixi Package Manager.

Develop, optimize, and maintain GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation pipelines.

Drive platform engineering excellence by establishing CI/CD patterns, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates, and golden-path repositories.

Advocate for and implement DevSecOps, GitOps (EPLX), and DORA metric practices with a focus on Conda Python environments. Required Experience & Technical Skills
