About the Role

Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to support our Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software Integrated Project Team. You will work within a large, mission-focused group delivering innovative software to support national security missions across Next Generation Ground Systems, Ground Element Modernization (GEM), and operational deployments.

*Onsite in Redondo Beach, CA

Responsibilities

Develop C++ software within an Agile environment using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) virtual machines, servers, and workstations

Design, implement, and unit test new features based on Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs)

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects (Discrepancy Reports - DRs)

Collaborate with subject matter experts and senior engineers across multiple mission-critical subsystems

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 0-2 years of experience

OR Master's/PhD with 0 years

OR 4+ years of relevant software experience in lieu of a degree

Strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) foundation and proficiency in C++

Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with DevSecOps and test automation

Experience with programming/scripting languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Perl

Strong mathematical and algorithmic understanding

Experience working in Agile Scrum teams

Familiarity with Atlassian tools: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo

Experience developing in Linux using git
