Description

SAIC is seeking Software Engineer API Developers to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide on-site technical and administrative support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS. This position will be located in the National Capital Region.

Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by Winter/ Spring 2026.

The Software Engineer API Developer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manages the ongoing enhancement and optimization of MARS data-services and the MARS API framework and architecture

The Senior API Developer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable, and secure APIs that meet the evolving requirements of MARS data owners and enhance the overall system's functionality

Provide system enhancement support for MARS FMI data and intelligence targeting, focusing on Object-Based Intelligence (OBI)

Develops and documents innovative, repeatable, and automated services aligned with the MARS

Development Release Plan

Tasked with ensuring that each enhancement progresses towards the identified user requirements with a proactive approach in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, delivering robust API solutions, and contributing to the strategic vision of the MARS program

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

One of the following certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional - Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSP-ISSAP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), or GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)

Bachelors degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering and 5 years or more relevant experience (will consider an additional 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)

Experience in developing and managing APIs, ensuring API security, and optimizing API performance

Proficiency in using RESTful and SOAP APIs, integrating third-party services, and developing API documentation

Strong understanding of API gateway technologies and data exchange protocols

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
