Lab Engineer

Location: Richardson, TX

Salary: $65.00 USD Hourly - $75.00 USD Hourly

Description: Our client is currently seeking a Lab Engineer in Richardson, TX.

You will have knowledge and skills creating, managing, and troubleshooting a layer 1-3 spine and leaf network hosting our client's Virtualized Mobility Applications. You will demonstrate a strong willingness to collaborate across multiple teams in order to create and maintain a robust environment to support the dynamic demands of test and development efforts supporting next-gen networks.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

Implement lab test bed setup based on requirements from Network Planning, and Maintenance Engineering teams

Insuring lab test bed setup is complete prior to test or development efforts

Scheduling and managing availability of lab resources

Support and triage for test bed issues, including vendor engagement/escalation

Maintenance of lab resources to insure production-like availability

Management of test bed inventories

Detailing/Documenting statuses in Jira requests

Qualifications & Requirements:

5-7 years of demonstrated experience in IP routing, preferably Cisco and Nokia

Experience in datacenter spine/leaf architectures

Proficiency in Multi-protocol BGP, Labeled Unicast BGP, IS-IS, BFD, EVPN, Segment Routing, L2 Class Of Service

Demonstrated experience troubleshooting/resolving network issues across L1-L3 platforms

Knowledge of Telecommunications/Service Provider architecture and design

Excellent collaboration skills and strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with best practices for equipment install, activation, turn-up, and network integration

CCNP or equivalent experience/certification

Even better if you have:

Familiarity with 5G Mobility applications

Experience with lab operational procedures/practices

Experience with Lab test tools - Ixia, Spirent, etc.

Scripting/Automation experience (Python, Ansible, Shell, etc)
