Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Data Center Cabling Technicians to support large-scale copper and fiber installation work in a hyperscale data center environment. Candidates must have strong low-voltage experience, including terminating copper using TIA-568A and TIA-568B color codes. This is a required skill for consideration. Technicians will install, test, troubleshoot, and decommission copper and fiber infrastructure while supporting network hardware installation and maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Install and decommission structured cabling (copper & fiber) in data centers
Perform both OSP and ISP cabling work
Pull, route, label, dress, and secure low-voltage cabling
Complete copper and fiber terminations (including 568A/568B)
Conduct copper & fiber testing and troubleshooting
Perform fusion splicing (Ribbon & Single Fiber)
Install or replace network devices; conduct live service swaps
Operate DSX-5000, OTDR, and program testers
Download, save, verify, and submit test results using LinkWare / LinkWare Live
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, redlines, and design documentation
Install ladder rack, seismic bracing, and overhead/underfloor pathways
Dress and furcate fiber trunks for splicing
Maintain accurate paperwork and clean work environments
Collaborate with Leads, Technicians, and project management
Follow all safety, quality, and production standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Candidates must meet all of the following:
Experience terminating copper using TIA-568A and TIA-568B color codes
Skilled in low-voltage cabling, including pulls, dressing, and securing
Experience with copper and fiber testing & troubleshooting
Proficiency with telecom hand tools
Ability to read and understand blueprints and floor plans
Understanding of wiring schemes and continuity testing
Ability to perform field terminations and labeling
Experience working in data centers or technical environments
Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for long periods
Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills
Ability to maintain documentation and run small service jobs
Shift Information
Candidates must be open to all shifts as project needs vary.
Day Shift:
Mon-Thurs: 6:00am-6:30pm
Fri: 6:00am-2:30pm (overtime available; voluntary weekends)
Swing Shift:
Mon-Thurs: 10:00am-10:30pm
Fri: 10:00am-6:30pm

Work Environment
Fast-paced data center environment
Physical role involving walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting
Must be comfortable working around active network equipment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
