Description: Our client is currently seeking a Electrical Engineer
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Support shipboard electrical power, navigation systems, communication systems and machinery controls systems and equipment.
Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment.
Develop programming and equipment standards for shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution system, navigation systems, and communication systems.
Prepare technical documentation such as reports, procedures, and test plans in support of all aspects of shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems, navigation systems, and communication systems.
Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems, navigation systems, and communication systems.
Participate in requirements development and design reviews to document system issues and revise design specifications and other detailed documentation for new systems and modernization efforts.
Contribute to proposal development by providing generation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS's), Bill of Materials, and labor estimates for shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution system, navigation systems, and communication systems.
Communicate effectively with team members in software engineering, hardware engineering, and program management.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this position must possess the following professional experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
3+ years of experience working with shipboard electrical power generation systems
Proficient knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated with US Navy and commercial shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems, navigation systems, and communication systems.
Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues related to shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems, navigation systems, and communication systems.
Ability to execute PLC driven systems for machinery controls
Ability to travel
Desired Characteristics:
Familiarity with ABS rules for Motor Vessels
Develop and execute testing Protocols
Drive/Motor Control systems
Woodward, Basler, or ComAp generator controls experience.
SKM System Analysis Software experience.
Technical writing ability.
Experience with NG Sperry Marine, Furuno, JRC and Anschutz Navigation Systems.
