Job Description

Goal: To educate students in God’s Truth through science instruction, integrating a biblical worldview while developing students’ understanding of scientific concepts, inquiry, and discovery. This role disciples students in Christ by fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and intellectual discipline, helping students recognize and appreciate the order, complexity, and design of God’s creation and equipping them to use their knowledge in ways that honor Him.

Type of Position: Full-time Exempt, Salaried School year schedule

Education:

Minimum - Bachelor's Degree; Degree in science, science education, or a related field preferred

Valid teaching license or ability to obtain licensure

Experience: Prior teaching experience preferred.

Desired Skills:

Ability to integrate faith and science instruction in a way that reflects a biblical worldview

Ability to teach multiple science disciplines at the high school level, depending on school needs

Demonstrated understanding of scientific concepts, laboratory procedures, and instructional best practices

Ability to safely conduct and supervise laboratory activities

Strong organizational skills for managing laboratory materials, equipment, and safety protocolsScience Education - Specific Requirements

Teach middle school science courses in alignment with assigned subject areas, which may include life sciences (e.g., biology, anatomy) and/or physical sciences (e.g., chemistry, physics, physical science), depending on school needs

Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving while integrating a biblical worldview

Design and implement laboratory experiments and hands-on investigations that reinforce scientific concepts and support experiential learning

Ensure safe and proper use, storage, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials in accordance with school policies and safety standards

Teach students to apply the scientific method, analyze data, draw conclusions, and communicate scientific findings clearly

Foster student curiosity about God’s creation by helping students understand the order, complexity, and design present in the natural world

Maintain a safe, organized, and effective laboratory and classroom environment

Collaborate with other faculty and administration to ensure curriculum alignment and continuity across grade levelsCore ResponsibilitiesPlanning and Preparation

Demonstrate an understanding of subject content and the biblical foundation of the curriculum.

Design coherent lesson plans that integrate Biblical principles and meet students’ developmental needs.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop course scope and sequence.Classroom Instruction

Inspire student learning, including Biblical worldview thinking, using effective instructional strategies.

Lead a student Life Group, providing spiritual mentorship and fostering Christ-centered relationships that support students’ spiritual growth and discipleship

Prepare materials and information for substitute teachers.

Attend and participate in devotionals, faculty meetings, and committee assignments.

Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.Evaluation Criteria

Performance for the Teacher will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
