Job Description
Step into the build bench: a day in this role
You start with a bare PCB and finish with a robust, tested assembly. In the morning, you’ll review configuration sheets and schematics, set up your ESD-safe workstation, and load up for SMT and through hole work. By midday, you’re reworking fine-pitch components, hand soldering to IPC standards, and integrating custom cable sets directly onto boards. In the afternoon, you’re inspecting every joint, flagging any documentation mismatches to engineering, and pitching in on light electro mechanical assembly when needed. What you’ll do
Turn bare boards into complete PCAs using both SMT and through hole techniques
Modify and rework PCBs by adding, removing, or replacing components
Perform precise hand soldering to IPC workmanship standards
Build cable assemblies: cut, strip, twist, tin, crimp, and terminate connectors
Solder wire and cable assemblies directly to PCBs
Read and interpret schematics, PCB drawings, wiring diagrams, and configuration sheets
Inspect solder joints and assemblies to verify quality and reliability
Follow ESD controls, cleanliness practices, and documentation procedures
Escalate documentation discrepancies to engineering for resolution
Assist with basic electro mechanical assembly as neededWhat you bring
Demonstrated SMT and through hole soldering ability
Hands on PCB assembly and rework experience
Cable assembly and wire harness termination skills
Fluency in reading technical documentation and drawings
Exceptional attention to detail and quality
