School Nurse Position

ABOUT EAGLEBROOK SCHOOL

Eaglebrook is a junior boarding and day school for boys, located in Deerfield, Massachusetts. Founded in 1922, Eaglebrook’s vision is to help each student develop his unique gifts during the critical middle school years, and our mission is to meet boys where they are in their development and to encourage them to build self-confidence through success. Eaglebrook offers a rich and diverse curriculum geared toward the learning styles of middle school boys. The Health Center comprises a team of nurses, a physician, counselors, a psychologist, athletic trainers, and a wellness coordinator who collaborate to ensure that students’ health needs are met.

Position(s): Night Shift

Nurse role at boarding and day school

Pay commensurate with experience

Shift Differential & Holiday Pay

Experience and ability to work independently preferred, but willing to teach

Patient Type: Pediatrics/Middle Childhood

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Minimum 1 year of experience

Satisfactory background check

Authorized to work in the United States

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Nurse is responsible for overseeing medical needs and ensuring that our students' overall physical health is met in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Provide first aid care and health assessment to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Write care plans and coordinate the care of students with chronic or acute health conditions.

Assess and evaluate care specific to developmental stages

Maintains current documentation for each student of all services provided

Administer medications and monitor delegated medication administration

Assist with referrals as needed to the EBS counselors, athletic trainers, psychologist, or outside referral

Skills to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary education team

Coordinate and triage emergency care with faculty, staff, and outside resources

Ability to relate to children and communicate with students and the school community

Maintain regular communication with the family/guardian regarding the student's health needs

Collaborate with families in accessing health insurance, medications, and health care services

Educate and train staff on: asthma, life-threatening allergies, diabetes, and blood-borne pathogens

Competent with office-based programs (Google Drive, Microsoft Office), and administrative duties

Job Types: Part-time (3-4 shifts per week)

Night shift (11p-7a)

Academic Year & Summer Program

Minimum Education: Associate Degree or Diploma

License/Certification:

BLS Certification

Massachusetts RN License or LPN License

Part-time
