About the role:
The Test Equipment Engineer supports production by ensuring reliable test equipment performance through qualification, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of test and automation systems. The role enables stable operations, quality compliance, and efficiency improvements across Final Test and Backend processes.
What you will do:
Manage the setup, qualification, and deployment of new or upgraded test equipment for production and capability improvements.
Improve equipment performance metrics such as MTBA, MTBF, OEE, UPH, and vision/handler optimization.
Perform troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and risk mitigation on test equipment.
Support yield, quality, and MOOI/OEE improvement initiatives through equipment and process enhancements.
Conduct investigations (8D), provide corrective/preventive actions, and support customer complaint resolution.
Collaborate with suppliers and cross-site engineering teams for benchmarking and technology upgrades.
Prepare documentation such as operating procedures, specifications, qualification reports, and weekly updates.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in ECE, ME, EE, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
At least 4 years of experience in semiconductor Test, Assembly, or Backend operations (Final Test preferred).
Experience with turret handlers (ASM, SRM, Pentamaster, Ismeca, Ueno Seiki) and AOI/vision systems.
Knowledge in mechanical design; proficiency in AutoCAD, Allegro Cadence, or similar drafting tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with statistical/data analysis tools (JMP, Minitab, etc.).
Understanding of semiconductor test processes (GR&R, test methods, program alignment).
Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
