Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range for this position represents a nationwide market and is influenced by various factors including role complexity and location, along with candidate skills, education, and experience. As part of our comprehensive compensation package, employees are eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
Salary Range
$99,100.00 - $163,400.00
What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers is on the lookout for a Software Engineer I to join our dynamic technology team. You will contribute significantly by handling various engineering tasks including developing, analyzing, configuring, testing, debugging, and implementing solutions based on user or system specifications. Collaboration with your team for troubleshooting and impact analysis is key to fostering our growth.
What Will You Do?
Analyze, design, develop, and configure solutions based on technical requirements for moderately complex assignments.
Assist the team in analyzing, assessing, and resolving defects and incidents of moderate complexity and escalate as needed.
Work independently on well-defined problems within the guidelines set by the team.
Actively seek opportunities to enhance your technical knowledge and skills.
Perform additional tasks as required.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
At least three years of programming/development experience.
Required experience with .NET, MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js (MERN stack).
Experience with cloud technologies is highly desirable.
Intermediate skills in delivering work steadily and predictably, breaking down assignments into manageable tasks, and contributing to discussions about prioritization and trade-offs.
Demonstrated domain expertise with strong technical understanding and a cooperative approach toward business problems.
Proven problem-solving capabilities, especially in debugging unfamiliar systems and recognizing patterns in issues.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, document clearly, collaborate, and ask clarifying questions.
Intermediate leadership skills showcasing self-motivation in seeking personal development opportunities.
What is a Must Have?
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of two additional years of software engineering experience.
