About the Role:
The Overnight Union Operating Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for a designated property. This position requires commitment, with the hours being from 11 PM to 7 AM, Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday. Ideal candidates will bring 4-5 years of relevant experience and a high school diploma or equivalent background. Responsibilities include conducting repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to emergencies.
What You'll Do:
Perform plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks necessary for building operations.
Maintain and repair heating equipment, chillers, pumps, and cooling towers.
Inspect and verify all field conditions, executing necessary repairs and adjustments.
Carry out general repairs, including doors, ceilings, and flooring.
Repair plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and flushing mechanisms.
Inspect and service engine room and cooling tower equipment, as well as generator and fire pump systems.
Replace lamps, light fixtures, and signage as required.
Document repair activities and report to supervisors.
Respond swiftly to emergency situations such as equipment failures and evacuations.
Complete all required safety training and provide timely responses to customer inquiries.
Apply problem-solving skills and share expertise with fellow team members.
Exhibit leadership by modeling CBRE's core values, fostering collaboration and consensus within the team.
Work with limited supervision and utilize strong judgment when analyzing information.
What You'll Need:
High School Diploma or equivalent, with 4-5 years of job-related experience preferred.
Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, and standing for extended periods.
Strong organizational skills and a curious mindset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
