The Mold Bar Operator is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, inspecting, and packaging mold bars and mold pins in accordance with written procedures and supervisory instructions. This role involves operating CNC mills, lathes, riveters, and finishing equipment while ensuring product quality through precise measurement and inspection. The operator performs routine machine maintenance, supports production efficiency, and maintains compliance with safety and quality standards. Attendance on site is essential due to the hands on nature of the work.
Responsibilities:
Manufacturing & Machine Operation:
Operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, riveters, surface finishing machines, and buffering machines to manufacture mold pins and assemble mold bars.
Perform washing, cleaning, and assembly operations as part of the production workflow.
Conduct routine machine maintenance, including lubrication, tool changes, and basic troubleshooting. Inspection & Quality Control:
Inspect pin and bar stock, Mold pins, and assembled mold bars using visual inspection, gauges, micrometres, and precision measuring tools.
Repair and straighten Mold bars as needed to meet quality standards.
Ensure all products meet required specifications and notify the Mold Manufacturing Technician Group Leader of any quality or machine issues.
Maintain responsibility for the overall quality of mold pins and mold bars produced. Packaging & Shipment:
Package completed mold bars securely and accurately for shipment to customers.
Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and handling of finished goods. Work Schedule & Attendance:
Work 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays when required.
Work additional hours or days based on business needs.
Maintain consistent on site attendance, which is considered an essential job function. Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience operating CNC machines, lathes, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred (not mandatory).
Ability to use precision measuring tools such as micrometres, gauges, and callipers
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic machine maintenance.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
Ability to follow written procedures, safety guidelines, and supervisor instructions.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Physically able to perform hands on manufacturing tasks.
