Overview
Client is seeking a Data Solutions Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric to design modern, unified analytics platforms. This role will architect end-to-end Fabric solutions using a lakehouse-first approach to enable scalable analytics, reporting, and AI use cases. You'll serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor—owning architecture decisions from discovery through delivery and guiding teams toward Fabric-native best practices.
Core Responsibilities
Design and govern end-to-end data architectures built on Microsoft Fabric
Lead solution design using Fabric Lakehouses, Warehouses, OneLake, and Semantic Models
Define ingestion and transformation patterns using Fabric Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Spark/Notebooks
Architect analytics and reporting solutions with Power BI and Fabric Semantic Models
Establish best practices for workspace design, security, governance, and performance in Fabric
Translate business requirements into scalable Fabric-based architectures
Guide delivery teams on Fabric-native patterns and avoid legacy architecture anti-patterns
Produce architecture artifacts, diagrams, and technical design documentation
Act as a technical authority during planning, delivery, and architecture reviews
Stay current on Fabric roadmap features and platform evolution
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or data architecture roles
Demonstrated experience as a Data Solutions Architect / Data Architect on enterprise platforms
Hands-on experience designing and delivering solutions using Microsoft Fabric
Strong understanding of lakehouse architecture and modern analytics patterns
Experience with Fabric notebooks (Spark), SQL endpoints, and semantic modeling
Deep knowledge of Power BI integration within Fabric, including security and performance
Strong SQL skills and experience with dimensional and semantic data modeling
Ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly to technical and business audiences
Experience partnering closely with engineering, BI, and platform teams
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills or Experience
Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer (DP-700) or equivalent
Power BI, Azure Data, or related Microsoft certifications
