RN-Med Surg Permanent Role

Location: Brenham, TX 77833

Shift: 12 HR Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Guaranteed: 36 Hours

Compensation: Based on experience

Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a diverse group of med-surg patients.

Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Monitor patient condition and provide updates to physicians and interdisciplinary team members.

Collaborate with care team to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.

Document care and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care, medications, discharge planning, and health maintenance. What Will Make You Successful In This Role:

Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.

Knowledge of state and federal nursing laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Familiarity with hospital policies and medical protocols.

Proficiency in medical terminology and pharmacology, including common medications and side effects.

Commitment to ethical nursing practices and patient confidentiality.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and scheduling systems. Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Field of Study: Nursing.

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas (or compact license).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
