Technical Writer (Software Documentation)

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Technical Writer to document the PensionPal application for support teams, operations, and developers.

This role focuses on documenting the system as it exists today — not redesigning or rebuilding it. The ideal candidate can quickly understand complex software environments and translate technical details into clear, structured documentation.

Core Responsibilities

Create installation and configuration documentation

Document system architecture and data flows

Develop support and troubleshooting guides

Produce developer onboarding documentation

Create templates for release notes and change management

Deliverables

Installation and setup guide

Architecture overview documentation

System and database documentation

Developer onboarding guide

Documentation organized for version control systems

Required Skills

Experience documenting production software systems

Ability to interview developers and extract technical knowledge

Comfort working with C# and SQL Server environments

Strong written communication skills

Experience with documentation tools and version control (e.g., Git)
