Data Engineering Manager, Analytics

Required Skills:

The Data Engineering Manager, Analytics responsibilities include:

Leading the mission and strategy for Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing within the product vertical.

Building and managing a high-performance BI and Data Warehousing team designed for scalability.

Fostering relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to understand and meet their data needs effectively.

Managing data warehouse initiatives, enhancing data quality, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Designing, building, and deploying new data models and pipelines to production.

Creating impactful dashboards and data visualizations that drive business insights.

Establishing and overseeing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for all data sets and processes in production.

Enhancing project efficiency and speed, showcasing strong project management leadership, and envisioning how BI can proactively improve the business.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered, you should have:

A minimum of 4 years of work experience (or 2+ years with a Ph.D.) in applied analytics, including at least 2 years managing analytics teams.

8+ years of hands-on experience in BI and Data Warehousing.

A Bachelor of Arts or Science in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related technical fields.

Proven track record of initiating and completing BI or data warehousing projects with minimal oversight.

Strong communication skills with experience presenting analysis results to executive leadership.

Project management experience with a solid understanding of data architecture.

Proficiency in data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and development experience in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Python or Java.

Experience managing teams, specifically growing and leading teams of 3 or more.

A background in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, and Product Management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates would possess:

Experience in scaling and managing teams of 5 or more individuals.

An advanced degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical fields.

Experience in a consumer web or mobile company.

Public Compensation:

$177,000/year to $247,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits.
