Job Summary:
The IT Software Developer will support Correctional Health Services by providing system administration, helpdesk support, and web development services. This role supports software maintenance activities and special IT projects to ensure system reliability, application support, and end-user assistance in a regulated healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide system administration and application support.
Support helpdesk operations, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and user access issues.
Assist with web design and web development initiatives.
Maintain, update, and support existing software applications.
Collaborate with internal IT teams on software maintenance and enhancement projects.
Document technical procedures, configurations, and system changes.
Assist with database-related tasks, including basic data handling and ETL processes, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Recent IT certifications (must be listed on resume).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in system administration and helpdesk or technical support environments.
Experience with web design and/or web development.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Ability to work onsite in a regulated healthcare or government environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems or a related field.
Experience with database management and ETL processes.
Prior experience in healthcare, correctional, or public-sector IT environments.
Additional Requirements:
DOC clearance required if assigned to work at Rikers Island.
Strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Must be able to work onsite during scheduled hours.
