JOB SUMMARY
The Deco Technical Expert will serve as the technical expert for the Printing and Decorating department at the New Albany, Ohio facility. As the Deco Technical Expert, the candidate will be responsible for solving printing and decoration problems, making adjustments to mechanical operation of machinery to keep quality, decorations, color, and production speed at optimum levels. In addition, this person will have a high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multi task with changing priorities and excellent project and time management skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analyzes problems encountered in screen printing, such as smearing or missing parts of image, colors off-shade, and mechanical malfunctions, and directs workers to correct problems, utilizing knowledge of screen-printing techniques.
Determines squeegees and ink color to use per order.
Sets up screens and adds color ink according to customer order.
Develops quality standards and continuously evaluates performance, products, and procedures.
Observe screen printing operation to detect defects in printing.
Follows proper procedures for all chemicals and inks used in the department.
Performs daily machine maintenance according to procedures.
Develops quality standards and continuously evaluates performance, products, and procedures.
Ensure production order is complete and according to specs and with the planned efficiency.
Qualifications
3-5 Years of experience with screen printing required. Pad printing, offset printing, and stamping experience are preferred.
3-5 years of Experience in decorating (printing) 3-dimensional rigid packaging or similar objects required
Experience in different substrate materials (glass, metal, polymers & plastics).
Knowledge of surface treatment technologies.
Extensive knowledge of conventional and UV inks and curing methods
Extensive knowledge of screen making, including mesh selection, coating techniques, and exposing methods.
Extensive knowledge of and experience with decorating equipment and technology.
Ability to differentiate colors and shades of color.
Mechanical ability and troubleshooting experience.
High school diploma or GED required; higher education or technical training preferred
