Position Overview Exploring Graphics is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Machine Operator to join our production team.
The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machines used in the production of high-quality graphics and signage.
This role requires technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities * Operate, monitor, and maintain machines such as large-format printers, cutters (e.g., Zund), laminators, and other graphic production equipment.
* Set up machines for specific production runs, ensuring correct materials, settings, and quality standards.
* Perform routine inspections to verify quality, accuracy, and consistency of output.
* Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical or process issues to minimize downtime.
* Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
* Assist with inventory of raw materials, ensuring proper handling and storage.
* Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and deliver projects according to specifications.
* Document production activities, including machine logs, quality checks, and maintenance records.
Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
* Previous experience operating production machinery, preferably in the graphics, printing, or manufacturing industry.
* Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic machine troubleshooting.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Ability to read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and technical specifications.
* Basic computer skills for operating machine software and recording production data.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment * The role is based in a fast-paced production facility with frequent exposure to noise, fumes, and machinery.
* Safety equipment (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, ear protection) must be worn as required.
* The position involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting materials throughout the shift.
