Works under general direction and requires thorough knowledge of dietetics/nutrition in order to manage entire dietary department
Supervise all dietitians and/or food service supervisory/ managerial personnel or in Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC)
Organizes, plans, develops and implements a comprehensive monitoring program of contract nutrition services statewide to assure services delivered meet applicable ODRC policy and protocol
Monitoring and evaluation of nutrition services processes, quality assurance activities, staffing expectations and fulfillment, critical review of major nutrition services occurrences that impact healthcare
Responsible for credential monitoring and clinical competence monitoring
Evaluates the data generated, and reports findings to institution staff, the designated contract monitor, and Office of Correctional Healthcare administrator
Evaluates the contractors planned remediation / action plan for findings as indicated and provide feedback to all parties involved
Periodically evaluates and inspects meals and nutrition services operations for quality and adherence to ODRC policy and procedure and state and federal regulations
Perform dietetic duties at the Franklin Medical Center which include
Collects anthropometric and biochemical data and information pertaining to patients’ nutritional health care
Competes nutrition assessment of patients and makes nutrition recommendations to advanced level provider diet orders and makes changes on diet summary list
Prepares and maintains files and information on patient nutrition status/care
prepares monthly diet summary and nutrition care reports
Works directly with the clinical and food service staff advising and monitoring (consulting) patient services
Plans and implements for nutrition education classes for inmates and staff
Develops nutritional education materials
Consult with food service managers in proper interpretation of menus and appropriate substitutions
Current licensure as dietitian as issued by Ohio Board of Dietetics per Section 4759.06 of Revised Code; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in state & federal guidelines & accreditation standards regarding dietetics/nutrition for agency of employment; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in employee training & development.
