Developer Programmer

As a developer programmer you would Interpret specifications, technical designs and flow charts, build, maintain and modify the code for software applications, construct technical specifications from a business functional model, and test and write technical documentation.

Responsibilities:

Researching, consulting, analyzing and evaluating system program needs.

Identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods.

Testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors and faults in an applications programming language within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure programs and applications perform to specification.

Writing and maintaining program code to meet system requirements, system designs and technical specifications in accordance with quality accredited standards.

Writing, updating and maintaining technical program, end user documentation and operational procedures.

Providing advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation and costing for recommending software purchases and upgrades.

Skills Required:

Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in IT highly regarded.

Business orientation with strong IT background.

3+ years’ experience in development or Support in a Financial Services, bank, cards, payments or any other domain.

Experience in VisionPLUS, CardPac or similar Credit Card processing systems or on payments platforms like SWIFT, New Payment Platform (NPP), ISO 20022, or on any of the switches like Postilion, Connex, Base24, ATM etc.

Experience working with APIs and other technical solutions.

Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues.

Good communication skills.
