Position Overview
Mantel Technologies seeks a Technical Project Manager to support efforts at the nexus of advanced materials and discriminating mission capabilities. This position requires a strong technical foundation in applied materials and engineering, along with demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex technical programs. As a Technical Project Manager, you will work closely with technical leadership to drive planning, execution, and delivery across multiple concurrent development efforts, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, cost, and performance.
Active U.S. Government security clearance is required.
Location: Columbus OH
Responsibilities:
Serve as Project Manager across multiple concurrent and potentially dissimilar technical projects, owning: schedule, cost, milestones, quality, and reporting for assigned efforts
Drive project planning and ensure delivery in alignment with defined scope and budget
Ensure all deliverables are produced in accordance with Mantel scientific and technical standards
Author technical reports and presentations
Represent the project and the company in meetings with stakeholders, including customers and prospective customers
Work closely with the technical lead to form unified project leadership and provide clear direction and priorities to the project team
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment across technical execution and program objectives
Work closely with technical lead, technical team and company leadership as required to ensure delivery of high quality project outcomes with cost and budget
What We’re Looking For:
Active U.S. Government security clearance required
BS (7+ years) or MS (5+ years) in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (MS Preferred)
5+ years of experience managing defense-funded development efforts
Must be a quick learner with a self-initiated drive to understand new concepts as required to effectively lead complex programs
Demonstrated experience working and evolving professionally in a technical environment
Prior experience supporting multidisciplinary technical programs
Comfort in interfacing with customers and end users to defined priorities and relate technology under development to requirements resolution
Proven ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, translate requirements into clear priorities, and align technical execution with customer needs.
Demonstrated ability to own schedule, cost, and milestone performance on technical programs
Strong understanding of the challenges associated with advanced materials and physical system development
Experience working in and evolving within a technical engineering environment
Ability to translate technical objectives into executable program plans
Comfort in working closely with technical leadership to define and direct priorities
Exceptional candidates will:
Have experience managing multidisciplinary programs involving advanced materials, embedded systems, or electromechanical systems
Have the ability to represent technical aspects of the project when the technical lead is not present
Have experience authoring high-level technical reports and presentations independently
Have experience supporting technical proposal development
