Job Description

SUMMARY: The Application Specialist is responsible for the application administration, optimization, and evolution of ALEC’s intranet, knowledge base, and Microsoft 365 (M365) workplace platforms. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, this role focuses on system configuration, integration, governance, automation, and enablement, not content ownership, while supporting enterprise efficiency initiatives.

This position serves as the intranet, knowledgebase, and M365 applications subject matter expert (SME) and acts as a bridge between Business Intelligence, Technology, Information Security, Risk and frontline business teams, translating operational needs into scalable platform solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Administers and optimizes ALEC’s intranet and knowledge base platforms and document libraries

Configures Intranet site architecture, permissions, metadata, alerts, review process flows, templates, and search functionality

Serves as Microsoft 365 SME for business applications (SharePoint, Teams, Power Platforms)

Identifies and implements key automation, integration, and efficiency opportunities

Partners with Business Intelligence staff and frontline teams to translate business needs into system solutions

Assists with creating business/ system requirements, use cases, process flows, procedures and training materials

Monitors/ audits usage analytics and recommend continuous improvements

Provides system support, training, and guidance to end users.

Acts as a liaison between the credit union and the application companies to address relationship issues

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Education Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology, Microsoft 365 certification, Teams Administrator Associate (MS-700)

Experience Required: Three (3) years working with application systems administration, preferably Microsoft 365
