Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer in New York, NY.
Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer (Tech Lead-level) to support a critical project involving the modernization of a legacy, on-premise application. This role requires strong hands-on development skills across both backend and frontend technologies, along with the ability to contribute to solutioning and modernization efforts.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and support a business-critical legacy on-prem application undergoing modernization
* Act as a technical lead, providing guidance on design decisions and modernization approaches
* Perform hands-on development across Java/Spring Boot backend services and Angular/React frontend components
* Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support production systems
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on enhancements and long-term modernization initiatives
* Contribute to future-state planning as the application evolves toward a cloud-native architecture
REQUIREMENTS:
* 10+ years of overall software development experience
* Strong full stack background with both backend and frontend expertise
* Backend (50-70%): Java; Spring Boot
* Frontend (30-40%): Angular and/or React
* Experience working on enterprise-scale, legacy systems
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to operate independently and provide technical leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in financial services environments (preferred, not required)
* Background in modernizing legacy or on-prem systems
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
