Hours per week 37.5 hours per week Normal Work Schedule M-Th 8 am-5 pm, Fri 8 am-12:30 pm Job Details Safety & Training Program Manager Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: Safety & Training Program Manager in the Department of Environmental Health & Safety.

The Safety & Training Program Manager administers the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) training program and provides technical and professional services in the development, implementation, and delivery of campus safety programs.

This position manages safety programs and administrative activities for the department in compliance with regulators such as OSHA, SCLLR, EPA, and SCDES, and University policies.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, or the natural or physical sciences, public health, or related field.

Related experience or equivalent education/training and experience.

Valid SC Driver's License.

Certified American Heart Association First Aid, CPR, AED Instructor.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience developing safety-related training programs.

Familiarity or experience with learning management systems (LMS) such as Datatel, Moodle, Informer and T4 computer programs.

Experience in department/project budget management, strategic planning, and developing departmental reports.

Duties include, but are not limited to: * Administers the University's environmental health and safety training program for all University employees and campus partners.

Supervises training staff and coordinates with University departments and campus partners involved in the development and execution of occupational, fire, and life safety training courses.

Manages the EHS learning management system (LMS) and maintains employee safety training records.

Coordinates with the Office of Human Resources staff and reviews position descriptions to establish safety training requirements and assigns required safety trainings within the LMS.

Ensures University compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards.

* Coordinates the Building Emergency Action Plan (BEAP) Program, serving as the EHS point of contact for the development and maintenance of the plan and associated elements.

Collaborates with building coordinators and Building Emergency Preparedness Groups to enhance communication and information sharing, and mitigate, minimize and/or eliminate workplace hazards.

Manages campuswide safety resources such as the First Aid Kit Program, safety telephones, and applicable safety signage throughout campus.

* Works collaboratively with EHS staff to conduct inspections of life safety systems/equipment and perform safety evaluations of the workplace and significant events.

Assists with the review of reported workplace accidents and provides applicable training records to appropriate University departments.

Provides assistance to members of the University community in evaluating minimizing risks in the wide-range and multifaceted activities of faculty, students, and staff.

* Creates and implements health and safety related educational initiatives and awareness campaigns for the University community, and participates in campus events to reduce accidents and injuries and promote a culture of safety on campus.

* Manages the EHS budget and performs departmental logistical and administrative functions.

Maintains the EHS webpages and completes the annual assessment plan and report for the department.

Supervises and trains temporary and student workers for the EHS Department.

Serves as a member of the CCU emergency operations organization and actively participates with stakeholder readiness programs.

SC State Pay Grade: GEN08.

Salary range: $45,300.00 (minimum) - $61,100.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m.

and Friday 8:00 a.m.

to 12:30 p.m.

Occasional travel for conferences or training is required.

This position is considered essential and is required to report to the Emergency Operations Center when activated.

Works indoors and outdoors in the heat and cold, potential exposure to chemicals, dirt, hazards, and toxins.

This position performs the following physical actions: Carrying, Lifting, Driving, Kneeling, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Sitting, Speaking, Squatting, Standing, Twisting, Walking, Writing.

Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
