We are seeking a qualified Mainframe Production Scheduling Lead to fill an open position with one of our banking clients. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of enterprise-wide mainframe batch operations while driving critical CD1 conversion planning and execution improvements. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring reliable, efficient production processing across the organization, partnering closely with application and operations teams. The ideal candidate thrives in high-visibility environments, brings strong technical depth in mainframe scheduling, and is comfortable providing 24 7 on-call production support.
Responsibilities:
Own and manage enterprise-wide mainframe batch scheduling using ZEKE/ZEBB, ensuring accurate and efficient production execution.
Provide expert-level support for job abends, reruns, restarts, dependency issues, and scheduling failures, including 24 7 on-call coverage.
Lead and coordinate CD1 readiness efforts, including planning sessions, documentation of INT/Mock activities, and development of runbooks and pre-conversion checklists.
Identify risks, inefficiencies, and process gaps within batch workflows and implement improvements to enhance conversion weekend execution and overall production stability.
Qualifications:
Proven experience managing enterprise mainframe batch scheduling using ZEKE/ZEBB.
Strong expertise in JCL, ChangeMan, ServiceNow, and production scheduling processes.
Demonstrated experience supporting job abends, reruns, restarts, and complex dependency resolution in production environments.
Experience participating in or leading large-scale production conversions (e.g., CD1, mock runs, integration cycles).
Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM EST with required 24 7 on-call production support.
Strong documentation, communication, and cross-team coordination skills within highly regulated or enterprise environments.
