Job Title: Operator

Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for an Operator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, maintaining and operating various pieces of equipment with the ability to operate throughout the day.

Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to always observe safe work practices and operating procedures. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit-Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner

Varying types of work including: Coldmix, and Surface treatment

Set up and run equipment

Control and adjust equipment as needed

Cross train in other departments for back up

Required Skills/Abilities:

Reliable transportation to and from work site

Strong work ethic

Strong math skills

Physical Organization and time management

Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary

Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted

Consent to a DMV license evaluation

Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate and MSHA Training

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements

Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present

Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Other Preferred Qualities:

Ability to read and understand SDS

Ability to work in all types of weather

Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred

Prior construction and/or laborer experience preferred

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred

Basic math skills
