SUMMRY

The Internship Manager at St. Vincent Family Services leads the development and coordination of the agency's internship program while maintaining a 50% clinical caseload. This role builds partnerships with higher education institutions, recruits and supervises interns, and supports workforce development, while also providing direct therapeutic services to youth and families, allowing for opportunities for interns to shadow. The role is responsible for maintaining timely clinical documentation and productivity standards while coaching interns to learn these same skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

Oversees the development and implementation of the St. Vincent Family Services Internship Program.

Builds and fosters relationships with higher education institutions to market St. Vincent Family Services as an employer of choice.

Recruits, trains, and supervises interns to maximize skills and talent.

Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates bachelor and master level students.

Works collaboratively across the organization to establish annual internship goals and placement opportunities.

Develops standard screening/interview process and orientation for interns.

Provides clinical supervision and submits regular feedback to students, program managers and higher education liaisons.

Responsible for the various administrative functions of the internship program.

Provide direct behavioral health services using evidence-based and trauma-informed practices while modeling these services to interns through shadowing experiences.

Maintain clinical productivity expectations equivalent to 50% of a full-time therapist caseload.

Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency, payer, and regulatory standards.

Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Monitor client progress, maintain treatment plans, and support positive clinical outcomes.

Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

Facilitate regular individual and/or group supervision meetings with interns.

Provide guidance on case conceptualization, treatment planning, ethical practice, and professional boundaries.

Review clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with agency standards.

Observe live or recorded sessions and provide strengths-based coaching and feedback.

Support interns in developing clinical skills, professional identity, and workplace readiness.

Monitor intern progress toward academic and agency learning objectives.

Complete formal evaluations and maintain communication with university faculty and program liaisons.

Address performance concerns through coaching, corrective feedback, and development plans when needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in social work, LISW-S is preferred. Minimum two years of experience providing relevant mental health services to children birth through 18 years of age. One-year supervisory experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic math skills.

ABILITIES

Highly developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to effectively present information to Executive and employee teams as well as regulatory agencies and service providers.

Proficiency with MS Windows and Outlook. Basic knowledge of data collection, analysis, and database programs.

Ability to assess situations and make decisions quickly and accurately.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, delegate effectively, and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Ability to build strong bonds with employees and managers to foster open, honest, and candid communication.

Ability to manage change in an organization reengineering its culture and approach to workload management.

Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with employee and/or client information, SVFC proprietary information and sensitive situations.

Ability to work and contribute as member of team.
