Scosche is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Clerk to join our Human Resources team. This role is responsible for supporting accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring compliance with California wage and hour laws.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, maintains strict confidentiality, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential for success in this position.

While this position is ideally full-time, we are willing to consider part-time arrangements for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time

Review and verify timecards for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees

Ensure compliance with California overtime, double time, meal/rest premiums, split shifts, vacation, and sick leave requirements

Administer payroll deductions including benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions

Process employment verifications and wage garnishments

Assist with year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing

Maintain payroll records and reports in compliance with company policy and legal requirements

HR & Employee Support

Assist with employee benefit enrollments and payroll-related updates

Support onboarding and termination processing

Maintain personnel and I-9 documentation

Provide professional and responsive support to employee payroll inquiries

Translate payroll-related documents and assist with Spanish interpretation as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred

Experience with Paylocity, ADP, or comparable payroll systems

Knowledge of California wage and hour compliance strongly preferred

Fluency in English required; Spanish bilingual skills strongly preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Experience with Google Workspace preferred

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Compensation

Pay Range: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour (Non-Exempt)

Final pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Overtime is paid in accordance with California law.
