Job Description: The Office of Academic Affairs offers a variety of academic programs that provide students with the academic acumen to transfer competitively to baccalaureate institutions or to engage the workforce directly.

The Air Traffic Control program offers students an associate's degree and the opportunity to become one of the next generations of air traffic control specialists.

Upon graduating, students can be hired directly to an FAA facility bypassing the FAA Academy because of our status as an Enhanced AT-CTI.

The cornerstone of our faculty's teaching is student success, so our classes regularly incorporate equitable teaching and learning strategies.

Many of our full-time faculty serve as leaders in their professional organizations or publish regularly, and many of the part-time faculty serve as community leaders and practitioners.

As faculty, you will empower our students to achieve success by helping them develop their competencies through innovative education.

The Air Traffic Control Program offers the following degree: Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Enhanced Air Traffic Control We are currently accepting applications for the following positions: Air Traffic Basics Adjunct Professor Air Traffic Control Tower Adjunct Professor Reporting to the Air Traffic Control Program Administrator, the Adjunct Professor position provides full and/or part-time course instruction in a specific content area.

Special consideration will be given to candidates who have a background which includes training on high fidelity simulator training to include one on one instruction and debrief and experience implementing student-centered instructional strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide instruction to students in a specific content area Prepare course work and develop the syllabus for each course assigned in accordance with established SUNY Schenectady approved curriculum and course outlines Teach the depth and scope of course content using engaging classroom methods to support students' mastery of course Student Learning Outcomes Model lifelong learning, focus on consistent improvement of instructional practice (engage as a reflective practitioner), and actively engage in independent and college offered professional development to increase knowledge in one's content area and teaching methods Requirements: Minimum Requirements: Ground and Local Control Adjunct Professor: Must have been certified as an Air Traffic Controller and have two (2) years as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) in the specialty you teach, and A bachelor's degree or an associate degree with five (5) or more year's career relevant experience.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to create inclusive and engaging learning environments for students from a wide range of backgrounds.

Air Traffic Basics Adjunct Professor: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, or Must have been certified as an Air Traffic Controller and have two (2) years as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) in the specialty you teach, and A bachelor's degree or an associate degree with five (5) or more year's career relevant experience.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to create inclusive and engaging learning environments for students from a wide range of backgrounds.

Preferred Requirements: At least one year of experience in teaching, preferably at the community college level (or comparable professional experience) Experience in utilizing differentiated instructional strategies Experience with virtual, online instruction and simulator training Additional Information: Special Information: VISA sponsorship is not available for this position Offers of employment will be conditional based on the successful completion of a background check and verification of official college transcripts.
