The Technical Training Advisor will be responsible for developing, delivering, auditing, and maintaining technical training for Oxy staff supporting GoA offshore operations for their personal, process, and technical development. The individual in this position will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for offshore technical tasks, roles, and responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Support the Competency Assurance Program
Maintain the technical competencies and reference training material for all the Oxy GoA facilities by ensuring they are maintained and evergreen in a constantly changing work environment.
Develop and deliver training to support regulatory and HSE requirements, GoA Competency, Technical development, and personal development for Oxy personnel.
Audit the training programs for correctness and effectiveness and evaluate employee participation and success rates in the training programs.
Perform offshore Verifications of the Observations performed by the Assessors.
Interact with Assessors keeping them informed of developments and resolving issues
Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Competencies
Education: High School Diploma/GED Required. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
Experience: Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience, or high school diploma/GED and 15+ years of experience.
The successful candidate will have experience working in support of training. Experience developing training programs is highly regarded. A background in mechanical / rotating equipment and experience in oil and gas industry technical training experience is strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Gulf of America offshore facilities and operations.
Solid understanding of offshore crafts and roles (operators, mechanics, automation, I&E) and their integration in operations.
Working knowledge of competency assurance processes and assessor interactions.
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and computer-based training tools.-based training tools.
Understanding of offshore regulations, standards, and industry guidelines.
Proven ability to collaborate with multi-discipline teams, including operations, engineering, and training.
Strong communication, influencing, and relationship building skills.-building skills.
Ability to manage and support multiple projects in a team-based environment.-based environment.
Proficiency with MS Office, Copilot, and standard business software.
