Position Summary
The Elementary Assistant Principal is a dedicated instructional leader focused on supporting
student achievement through the continuous professional development of K-5 teachers. In this
role, the Assistant Principal ensures that all classrooms are aligned with Colorado Academic
Standards (CAS) by implementing research-based, effective instructional strategies. As a visible
leader on campus, the AP fosters a positive school culture and serves as a vital link between the
school's strategic goals and the daily success of students and staff in the classroom.
Essential Functions: Instruction
? Differentiated Coaching: Partner with the Elementary Principal to provide regular, high-
frequency instructional coaching tailored to move each K-5 teacher toward breakthrough
academic results.
? Curriculum Alignment: Lead planning meetings with teachers to ensure the daily delivery
of rigorous, CAS-aligned content across all core elementary subjects.
? Data Action Plans: Support teachers in the "Deep Dive" analysis of student work and
iReady/CMAS data to close instructional gaps and ensure grade-level mastery.
? Instructional Modeling: Consistently and effectively model revolutionary instructional
and classroom management strategies specifically designed for K-5 learners.
? Specialized Services & MTSS: Work under the guidance of the Principal to oversee the
implementation of IEPs, 504s, and ALP plans; provide direct oversight of the Elementary
MTSS process.
? Adaptive Leadership: Perform other duties as assigned by the Elementary Principal and
Executive Director to ensure school-wide success.
Essential Functions: Culture
? Administrator on Duty: Support the admin team in implementing systems and routines
that create a safe, welcoming, and "elementary-friendly" school environment.
? Real-Time Teacher Support: Use "shoulder-to-shoulder" coaching to help teachers
establish classroom procedures that ensure emotional safety and maximize learning time.
? PBIS & Discipline: Manage school-wide incentive systems (PBIS) and student discipline
issues, ensuring expectations are upheld with a focus on restorative practices and social-
emotional growth.
? Community Presence: Provide high-energy leadership during community gatherings and
"morning meetings" that set the academic and social tone for the K-5 student body.
? Family & Community Advocacy: Communicate proactively with families regarding
student progress; assist with student recruitment and enrollment to maintain a thriving
school community.
Essential Functions: Assessments
Testing Coordination: Provide operational oversight for K-5 standardized assessments (CMAS,
iReady, READ Act requirements) and support the broader K-12 testing team as needed.
? Licensure: Current Colorado Teaching License; Colorado Principal License (preferred or
in-process).
? Education: Master's Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
? EL Expertise: * Required: Experience in sheltered instruction and supporting English
Learners.
o *Strongly Preferred: CDE English Language Acquisition (ELA) certification and
Spanish proficiency.
? Leadership Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as an elementary school
leader or instructional lead.
? Teaching & Coaching Background: Minimum of five years of teaching experience in a
diverse elementary (K-5) setting (strongly preferred).
o *Minimum of one year of instructional coaching experience at the elementary
level (strongly preferred).
? Technical Knowledge: Proven experience with the MTSS process, the READ Act, and
remote/virtual learning platforms.
Supervisory Relationship: The Elementary Assistant Principal will supervise licensed teachers
and support staff as assigned
Job Type: Full-time (218-day schedule)
Compensation and Benefits:
? $90,100.00 to $121,900.00 / year (BOE)
? Participation in CO PERA retirement program, including a PERA 401k contribution
option

? Approximately three weeks of summer vacation, approximately four weeks of school
holidays and vacations, and 10 days of paid time off annually
