Job Summary
Beverage Disposal Operators are responsible for efficiently disassembling cases of canned beverages by hand and placing the components in the appropriate waste stream for destruction. This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
This is a temporary role for 4-6 weeks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manually disassembles canned beverage cases by hand
Segregates cans and packaging material components into the appropriate waste stream
Inspects cans for defects, correct labeling, and proper filling before packing; removes damaged or defective products
Maintains a consistent pace to ensure expected case rates are met within the assigned shift
Maintains required shift paperwork to ensure traceability for destruction
Complies with all work and safety rules, including wearing personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, gloves, hat and/or hairnet, goggles, face shields, and hard-composite or steel toe shoes), and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately
Works with and/or around hazardous chemicals (i.e. caustics, acids, ammonia) with personal protection equipment, and on-site training
Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene, health standard, and sanitation as mandated by FDA regulations, the Department of Agriculture, and other regulatory agencies - municipal, state, and federal
Responsible for cleaning and general upkeep of assigned area
Reads work orders, machinery and equipment controls for operation, and operate a computer
Uses basic mathematical skills for inventory and record keeping
Follows all company food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures; adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED certificate
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, preferred
Proficiency using a computer to record and submit daily metrics
Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a large team to achieve agreed upon metrics
Ability and interest to work in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of a 24/7 environment (including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as assigned)
