Assistant Principal Title: Assistant Principal Reports To: Building Principal Terms of Employment: Salary and work year as established by the Board of Education and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Classification: Administrative Provisions Job Goal / Purpose To assist the principal in providing school-wide leadership and to learn the role of the principal.
Qualifications * Valid Ohio certification/licensure * Master's degree in Educational Administration * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities * Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school.
* Serves as the principal in the absence of the principal.
* Supervises the preparation of student schedules if so delegated by the principal.
* Assists in working with department heads and faculty in compiling the annual budget requests.
* Assists in safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
* Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services as delegated by the principal.
* Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deals with special cases, as necessary.
* Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
* Administers the student insurance program as requested.
* Performs record-keeping functions.
* Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the attendance officer for investigative follow-up actions.
* Supervises and evaluates teachers and departments as assigned by the principal.
* Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may assign.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands * Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
* Excellent observation and communication skills * May perform strenuous tasks, such as lifting, when working with students.
* Assisting students with behavioral/management needs * Frequent evening and/or weekend work Evaluation Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy and provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, ensuring alignment with district goals and expectations.
