Research Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
Identify and recruit potential candidates for the current enrolling trials.
Document and maintain prescreening and enrollment logs.
Transfer study data and results from notes and records to computer formats
Organize and maintain lab storage, samples, and specimens
Follow all health and safety regulations when handling laboratory specimens
Identify and label samples and study documents
Assist with the collection and packaging of biological samples such as blood, urine, and stool.
Prepare equipment and workspace
Perform ECGs and vital signs
Schedule protocol visits and procedures
Assist in participant recruitment
Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed
Comply with all study procedures, processes, and methodologies
Sanitize and sterilize equipment and workspace
Assist all senior study staff and leadership with additional duties as needed
Qualifications
Research Assistant Requirements and Qualifications
Certificate, diploma, or associate’s degree in Medical, Research, or Laboratory Assisting
Two (2) years’ experience as a Medical, Research, or Laboratory Assistant or relevant experience in a laboratory environment
Able to perform vital signs and ECGs
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
Good interpersonal skills and communication
Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
Must be comfortable working with biological specimens and must comply with all health and safety regulations
Must be willing to learn and abide by the Code of Federal Regulations and Good Clinical Practice
