Position Summary:
The Job Developer will assist individuals with disabilities to find suitable employment opportunities. They will work closely with clients and employers to assess and develop job-related skills, make connections with employers, and assist with successful job placements.
Essential Functions:
Develop individual community-based jobs for clients with a wide range of disabilities based on customer/referral source input, make employer contacts, develop and implement job placement plans
Provide consultation, training strategy information, and accommodation information to support the individual, Job Coaches, employers, referral sources, and supervisors
Ensure that all customers and team members receive necessary and timely communication
Coordinate services with other agencies and staff
Ensure billing and reports are sent to customers in a timely fashion and referrals are addressed within ten days of receipt
Provide job site follow-up as needed
Assist in generating new referrals
Transport clients to appointments, interviews, meetings and work as needed
Explain and use employment and wage reimbursement incentives to clients, employers, agencies and families
Ensure a high level of quality services
Mentor all new Job Developers regarding all aspects of job development, service delivery, paperwork and billing
Respond immediately to complaints and concerns
Ensures compliance with CARF standards
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
Compassionate, patient, and dependable
Ability to follow support plans and communicate clearly with team members
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Must have conflict resolution and organizational skills
Must be able to effectively communicate and interact in a positive manner, utilizing both written and verbal methods, with participants, families, advocates, employees, and referring agencies
Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office software and other web-based software
Must represent The Alpha Group and its participants to the public in a professional manner
Must be at least 18 years old
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Must be willing and able to travel to various job sites
Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
Must remain in compliance with all regulatory standards governing program services, including appropriate training
Must have or obtain First Aid/CPR/AED training certification
Must be able to read, write, and understand English
