My client is a Tier One automotive manufacturer based in the northern suburbs of Chicago. They are a global company, with over 800 employees total. They invest in the things that matter, as they have a state of the art facility (including a high-end robotic coffee maker!). At the same time, they promote a casual work environment.

Job Description

Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the company's QMS in accordance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards

Manage and mentor the Quality Engineering and Quality Technician teams to ensure robust execution of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, and Process Validation activities

Oversee customer quality performance metrics, warranty returns, and corrective action processes, ensuring timely and effective resolution

Serve as the primary liaison during customer and third-party audits, ensuring audit readiness and compliance across all departments

Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to drive design for manufacturability, process capability, and reliability initiatives

Approve and monitor supplier quality performance; ensure supplier PPAP meets all submission requirements

Develop and report key performance indicators related to quality, scrap, and system effectiveness

Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action initiatives across the organization

Champion continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies or similar

Maintain quality documentation, procedures, and records to ensure traceability and compliance

Utilize Wrike to plan, assign, and track quality projects and cross-functional activities, ensuring alignment across departments

Provide technical guidance and training to promote a strong quality culture throughout the organization

Oversee and support test lab activities, ensuring all testing, calibration, and verification processes meet applicable standards and requirements

Participate in strategic planning and support new product development programs to ensure product quality objectives are met from design through launch

The Successful Applicant

Experience managing an ISO 9001 QMS

IATF 16949 experience is a plus

APQP/PPAP experience

Auditing experience

Experience handling customer complaints

Data analysis experience

Bachelor's degree What's on Offer

Salary upwards of $150,000 depending on experience
